Health Shops |
| |
| The London health shop scene has changed a lot in the past few years. Originally, it used to be Holland and Barrett chains stores (yuk!) sprinkled around with some fantastic independents. Since that time Holland and Barrett have bought up another chain, GNC — formally Health and Diet — forming a virtual monopoly on chain stores in city and reducing, in our opinion, quality and product range in the process, but thankfully, to counterbalance this, we have seen the rise of the health food supermarket which was started by Planet Organic a few years ago. |

Bumblebee Wholefood Co-Op |
| Sells organic fresh fruit and vegetables, tinned and packet health food, breads, cereals and alcoholic drinks. This is a great store selling products at prices that we can all afford. |

Spitalfields Market |
| Great market to get organic foods at a good price. This is an especially good place to hang out on a Sunday. |

Fresh and Wild |
| Fresh and Wild originally got its name because it was a buyout of Wild Oats and Freshlands — two fantastic old health stores in London. Since that time Fresh and Wild has established itself as the leading natural health supermarket in London, with a store in Bristol as well. Fantastic range of organic fresh produce, health foods and supplements, as well as great instore restaurants and juice bars. Our only gripe with Fresh and Wild is that it is relatively expensive, hence 4 stars. |

Planet Organic |
| Planet Organic was the first American style health food supermarket to open in the UK. It is pretty similar to Fresh and Wild — organic produce, health foods, supplements, juice bar, restaurant — except, in our opinion, it is not quite as good because it seems to be slightly more expensive... with such a fantastic range of products you always end up leaving the shop spending a lot more than you intended! |
